Hi! Bonjour! In addition to owning and operating Minds On Learning, I am a Primary French Immersion homeroom teacher and French as a Second Language lead teacher at my school. I have been working and volunteering in the field of education for over 10 years. Some of my roles have included working as a French literacy facilitator at a public library as well as working as a French curriculum writer, teacher and administrative assistant at a major international educational company. I have been working as a private tutor for many years and recently started my own business to tutor students virtually.
As a child, I was a student in both the Core and French Immersion programs. I earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in Didactiques des langues secondes (Second Language Teaching) & French from the University of Ottawa. Following that, I went on to complete my Bachelor of Education degree within the French cohort from the University of Western Ontario. As a passionate lifelong learner, I recently began my Masters of Education in Second Language Teaching and Learning from the University of Ottawa. I have obtained several additional qualifications to continue my own learning, including Integration of Information and Computer Technology in Instruction, Part 1, Adapting Curriculum for Second-Language Learners, French as a Second Language (Specialist) and Primary and Junior Mathematics (Specialist).
I am a firm believer that each student can succeed and am passionate about inspiring the minds of young learners to develop an appreciation for learning. My tutoring style focusses on differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each individual learner. I enjoy integrating technology to motivate students and always find ways to make the learning meaningful and fun! I look forward to the opportunity of working with your child and inspiring them on their path to success.
